The Roof - Ellijay
Located in Ellijay in the mountains of North Georgia, The Roof is situated on the actual roof of a historic building; you can walk up or take the outside elevator. The restaurant is partially outdoor seating and partially indoor seating separated by glass walls, and the food was nothing short of amazing. We had the Thrice-Cooked Chicken (smoked, baked and flash-fried) and the Country Fried Pork Chop. Don’t let the dish names fool you – this is what I would describe as “down-home artisanal gourmet fare”,
Service was friendly, and because of Steph’s food allergies we base the “service” rating on how much of a bother all the questions appear to be for the wait staff. Our waitress was friendly and eager to speak to the chef to learn more about the restaurants offerings when we asked about ingredients.

The restaurant is closed on Monday & Tuesday and only open til 8 on Wednesday & Thursday and 9 on Friday & Saturday - so plan ahead. More info can be found on the restaurant's website.
